12 Weeks

So yesterday I turned 12 weeks old. That does not, however, mean that I have learned to do my hair. While cosmetology school hasn't fit into my plans as of yet, working on my posing has been. I call this one "the gun show".--McKinley

Busy Month

When I last posted, I was only six or seven weeks old. Now I'm a robust eleven weeks. It's been very busy and very fun since then. I had a nice long visit from my Great Grandma (she wants to be called "g-nanna"), and we moved into a new house. Needless to say, I've been a mover and a shaker. Here are some pics from my latest exploits. --McKinley When at my Grandma Webb's, I like to ride the laundry train. But I wasn't just there to play around; I'm quite the folder. Like I said, my G-Nanna was in town from Philidelphia. Man, did we have a good time. We first met at an inopportune time for me (I was pretty cranky), and G-Nanna thought I might have some sort of grudge against her. But a new diaper and a little down time, and I got in some really good time with her. It was so good to meet her and be loved by her. Not to make both my grandmas feel left out, I had to spend some time with them, too. In the middle of all that I had my two month check up. I'm healthy as can be. Mom's feeding me well; it's going mostly to my cheeks and thighs. I past the dozen pound mark--plenty of room to grow. That's the happenings for now, but I'll hit you up with some more of my exploits soon.

Vacation (pt. deux)

I loved vacation so much, I made faces like this all the time: It would have been nice if mom and dad let me roam a little more. How is a girl supposed to maintain her tan under an umbrella? Mom hooked me up with a sling for a little while, which was a great way to enjoy a little jaunt up the dunes overlooking Lake Michigan. The best part of vaca might have been the morning paper, followed by naps.

Vacation (pt. 1)

So for the past week or so I've been on my first vacation. Mom and Dad took me to Michigan to enjoy the beach, some great weather, and some relaxation. Here are some pics, along with some of my commentary. Thanks! --McKinley

I'd never been in the car for an extended period, but we loaded up, headed out, and I did a great job traveling. It might be one of my new hobbies. While I'm still getting acquainted to most everything, I took to the beach pretty well. With my awesome complexion, mom kept me all lathered up with baby 55+ sunblock. Also, I found my tongue. As if the SPF a billion weren't enough, I doubled it up by sporting this swell beach cap. The down time on the beach gave me plenty of time to ponder and muse about a myriad of issues... ...and plenty of time to hang with Mommy. But after hitting the waves and the rays, I was pretty well wiped out. Good thing they sprung for the king, because when I kick it, I need my space.

Just the Thing

Our friend Erin Duggin is an amazing artist and photographer. Her artwork and her products can be found at Just the Thing Originals, and she blogs at This and That. Last week she took McKinley's baby pictures. Here's re-posting the photos Erin put on her blog. If you're in the market for photos of any kind, give Erin a shout. She's fantastic! Thanks Erin!

Happenin' Little Lady

So our happenin' little lady has been out and about lately. Here are just a few of the things she's been up to. First, she had a doctor's appointment early this week. She was an excellent patient, and was wildly entertained by the mirror. McKinley went on her first play date this week with Mary Grace, whose parents we met in our childbirth class. At this point in our lives we don't make a lot of new friends, but we really have enjoyed getting to know these folks. They had us over and deemed it a "babyque". Mary and McKinley hit it off. She also hit it off with her new friend Annalyn, born just a few days after McKinley to some of our best friends. The wives made a little baby pile. No matter where we're off to, she loves being in the carseat. And after all the excitement is over, McKinley's favorite thing to do is have a little nap time with her dad.

That Face

She is so rarely fully alert, so when you catch her like this, it's pretty great. While I was gone, Lauren somehow initiated a full scale Royal Rumble between McKinley and a neighborhood ewe. Judge for yourself who won.
